Process Not Perfection Counseling
Hanah Ashley LCSW
Meet Luvie and I

Hanah Ashley LCSW
I have been working in the counseling field since 2010. I worked at Rosecrance for 7 years with adolescents struggling with substance abuse and mental health.
I then transitioned to HOPE Counseling where I continued my work with adolescents and began working with more adults and couples for almost 7 more years.

Almost 14 years later, I'm ready to create my own vision and mission within my own practice with my sidekick, Luvie.
Luvie
Luvie is the star of therapy. She was certified as a therapy dog in 2018 and has worked with clients since then. She participates in sessions with adults, teens, and children.
She has been well known throughout the office by clients and families for her sweet and spunky personality.
My Approach
I try to bring humor with directness to my clients to create a fun and comfortable environment. Each person is different so I enjoy finding what works for them to help them tackle both the toughest and best times in their lives. It's amazing to be joking one minute and to watch people put together the pieces and have the 'ah-ha moments'.
I enjoy helping clients find their motivation and why they want and need changes within their lives. I help people work to accept all parts of their process, knowing it will be messy, but will also be worth it.
It is helpful to know that you aren't alone in this and I get to be the person that helps walk along side people and remind them of their worth when it's tough to see on their own.

I want to see my clients succeed, whatever that may look like for them while challenging them to trust themselves and the process.

Populations
The type of therapy depends on the client. I typically use standard talk therapy with experiential therapy. I teach skills from DBT. I like to incorporate somatic experiencing and brainspotting to help resolve traumas stored in the body.

I offer in-person and telehealth sessions.
I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, PTSD/trauma, life transitions and changes.

I have work with addictions (substance abuse, gambling, eating disorders) as well as with family members of those struggling with addictions.
I typically work with teens, young adults, and adults.
I offer individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy.
